I’m Only Eating One Meal a Day Now

Yesterday, while canvassing the neighborhood I spoke to a wonderful woman who couldn’t make it to the IHCC meetings. Her home was one of the ones damaged by the tornado last year. She’s still fighting with her insurance company to finish repairs to her home. She’s used up the majority of her savings during the process because she found out she was “under-insured”.

Then, she admits to me she’s only eating one meal a day to save money.
She’s terrified of the current economy and what’s going to happen to her.

Another $8.50 per month on her water bill?
”You might as well shut my water off, because I won’t be able to pay it.”
